I ended up watching White House Down, instead.

New Year's Eve is original but has almost the same twists and turns as Valentine's Day (same peeps behind, eh)

First Day of 2012

It's the first day of the year.
After attending Mass, we realized we had nowhere else to go...
Not to the malls, please. (hahaha to this)
Okay, let's head back home and have a lazy dinner.

While having dinner, we were thinking of things to do...
Obviously, we ended up agreeing on watching the movie, New Year's Eve.
We left our home quarter to seven and the movie was about to start by seven
Imagine the speed we were on to reach the moviehouse on time.

Uhmmm...what can I say?
I recognized Bon Jovi right away (Be didn't, eh)
I recognized Phoebe of the Charmed Ones (amazingly, Be didn't again!)

So many intertwined lives ('sosyal' version of  the movie jologs, sabi ko nga)
Okay, okay, it may seem 'bitin' but they had to squeeze in 1, 2, 3, 4...how many lives into one movie.
Some were okay...for some, 'pinilit' na lang...

I love Halle Berry's story
I emphatized with Robert De Niro's plight
I love Hilary Swank's job
It's nice to see Russel Peters
I like how Jessica Biel's hubby ended their story
Zac is way, way too young for Catwoman (but that's what the story wanted)
Lea Michele was so lucky with her elevator scene with Aston Kutcher
Nice idea with the sweets, Katherine Heigl
What took you so long to decide Bon Jovi?
And...if there's Sarah Jessica Parker, there's gotta be a beautiful pair of shoes in tow.

Movie QT

Last year, I watched My Amnesia Girl with my dad...

This year, I took the advantage of 'cheaper' rates in the Philippines again, so while on vacation, I watched breaking dawn.  It doubled as a QT with my mom who slept beside me for the whole film. Hehehe.

*watched it for the sake of being 'in' not a big fan of twilight lang...

Wanting to spend quality time before jen goes for vacation...we trooped to the cinemas with Ate and Mike to watch MI:Ghost Protocol

*i love Tom Cruise and i love Mission Impossible more...

And just last night...grabbing the opportunity for a QT with Gina, kahit naghihilik pa siya sa tabi... I 'forced' her to watch 'My Week with Marilyn'

*don't watch if you're not a Norma Jeane fan...not recommended. :D

YES!  I trooped to the cinemas as soon as I learened they're showing it for the Eid holidays...

Okay, okay...first few scenes were b-o-o-o-r-i-n-g....
But it was meant to show the character's life turned to 'boring' already.
So...what am I talking about?

I stayed up so late --- till 3AM kaninang uamga kasi I found a hidden treasure in an old laptop.
In it was BURLESQUE!

This was my post which is an understatement to how much I wanted to watch this movie...
And last night, while searching for Criminal Minds and Suspect Behaviour episodes, I stumbled upon this Christina Aguilera-Cher Movie.

I know what I want for my birthday...a DVD of Burlesque. (mababaw me.)

abilities - choices

We were doing a marathon of HP Movies.  Last night we're on HP 2.
Was struck by the last few scenes with Harry and Dumbledore talking.
Dumbledore said something similar to it's not about the abilities that you have but the choices that you make...
Hmmm...nice line, I thought.

Then this morning, I was reading a Yahoo News Article about Leslie Nielsen who passed away last Sunday (may he rest in peace).

And I quote:

"...As soon as he graduated from high school at 17, he joined the Royal Canadian Air Force, even though he was legally deaf (he wore hearing aids most of his life.)

After the war, Nielsen worked as a disc jockey at a Calgary radio station, then studied at a Toronto radio school operated by Lorne Greene, who would go on to star on the hit TV series "Bonanza." A scholarship to the Neighborhood Playhouse brought him to New York, where he immersed himself in live television."

A legally deaf guy (whatever that means, he's still 'deaf) who went on to work as a disc jockey.  Cool.  He was not hindered by his in-ability...he definitely made the right choice/s.

May I have the same discernment to make the right choices and not be consumed by my abilities...
