Kids Summer Camp

Thank You, Lord for a weekend filled with opportunities to encounter you...
Bless my health, my heart, and my spirit that I may never falter in serving You.
Good afternoon, friends…

Eight days to go before the 9th SFC-UAE National Conference.

We would like to appeal to everyone to please include us in your prayers…
Let us pray for all the service team and participants that we may prepare our hearts in the coming days so that it’ll be like a fertile soil ready to receive God’s words from the experience of the conference.

We pray for all the participants, Oh Lord that you will bless our schedule with your protection. Give us good health, also, Lord that we will enjoy the experience of the Natcon to the fullest.

For the service team, please pray that our Music Ministry Members will be back safely in Dubai and in time for their practices and the National Conference.
Bro Edmund Fajut is currently in KSA on a business trip.
Bro Audie Cabico is still in Kish waiting for his visa.

Let us also pray for all the members of the Creative Ministry polishing their performances, the Logistics Team finishing the stage design and all other logistical requirements, the Documentation Ministry editing videos that will be used to convey messages of God, the Secretariat Team busy segregating the conference kits, and the rest of the service team dutifully doing their tasks.

Touch our hearts, Lord that we may always offer our time, talents, and treasure selflessly in service of your name. And in all of these, we may seek one goal, to bring back all glory, honor and praise to Your most holy and sweet name.

All these we pray, with much love and thanksgiving. Amen

Acceptance sounds French to you.

cry-free

Paano ba maging 'hindi iyakin' ...

Alam ko namang 'From the day you were born, crying was never a sign of weakness...it was a sign that you're alive'

Pero sana mas madalas ding alive and cry-free (sounds like carefreee...) *winks*

RIP Sir Joey

"Ang laging binubulong sa akin ng wife ko noon, surrender to the Lord, full surrender. Nanghingi po ako sa kanya ng lubid para makawala. Metaphorically, hindi siya nagbigay ng rope. He dangled a paintbrush and I grabbed it. Doon, liwanag. New life," he said in an interview on Probe Profiles

pic from  a tumblr post
was chatting via email with a sister...
we were discussing about the posture of our heart as regards believing and trusting that God will provide
when suddenly I noticed the title of her department...Claims Department.
it just struck me.  and I told her...even her department reminds her of God's goodness...(pahiram  sabi ko...)

I'm  Cheche Espinosa from Claims Department...huh tech clerk ka dba?

Because Cheche always CLAIMS that she will be blessed...way beyond her expectations!

PAG-ASA brain drain

(excerpt)
Weather forecaster Nonoy About was the last to leave for Dubai. He left last year. Another experienced forecaster, Robert Rivera, left in 2008.

In 2007, Ayla Bayaca, former officer in charge of PAGASA’s Legazpi City station, and Leonilo Millanes also accepted positions in Dubai.

Also last year, Cora Samar of the forecasting section left for a position in Australia.

Just recently, deputy administrator for operations Nathaniel “Ka Tani” Cruz left to work in Australia’s state weather bureau, making him the highest ranking PAGASA officer to leave for better climes.

Some employees told the Inquirer that Cruz was given three months to reconsider his decision to leave for abroad. Other employees said Cruz would not be returning.

sadness...just sadness...

And Mikey answered

“My critics also had the privilege of enjoying charmed childhoods. And it’s so hypocritical on their part to seek my disqualification because they too, have enjoyed privileged lives. I just pray that their minds which have been enmeshed in the quagmire of hypocrisy for such a long time now, be enlightened so that they would come to realize that the stones they are hurling against me are also actually meant for them,” Arroyo added.

*note : some charmed childhoods, eh.

So blessed!

Who would have thought that despite the fact the company’s not winning any ‘big’ jobs, they’ll be giving an incentive?

Well, they did. I paid off my usual monthly negative balance due …

Who would have thought that traffic fines will be slashed into half?
My 600 AED fine is now 300…

Who would have thought that a friend will tell you that your credit’s been written off?
I owe a friend 8,000 – was able to pay 4,500 na…
And just this morning…He informed me…I don’t need to pay him  anymore…my utang’s finished na daw!

Who would have thought God would pay so much attention to what I need…
And deliver it in bundles of surprises…???

Things I never thought possible are happening right before my very eyes…
It’s been months now that I am feeling this inexplicable kind of peace…
That even though I cry, I cry in prayer telling Him not to let the peace that I’m feeling be disturbed by my worries.
Ahhhhh…My God is a God who provides…MY God is a God who loves to deliver surprises tailored specifically for me!

Those mentioned above are just ‘material’ blessings…
Like free movie treats…friends who’ll pay for your gas…free Natcon reg fee..free lunch...free ride...dami!!! weee!!!
I believe I am  able to maintain that kind of ‘peace’ because I’m surrounded with His people.
Loving family…understanding even when all you can send across is love...
Friends who stood by your side…waited for you to get back to life…
Mentors who never left you…patiently prayed for your renewal…
Countless opportunities to serve Him…talk invitations, natcon service team, kids camp, chapter PFO, a leader to my household…

It’s still a long uphill road…but I know God is walking that path with me in tow…
;)

I am  humbled that my God pays so much attention to details and elated at the same time because I am always reaffirmed that I am, have always been and will always be…His precious child.

provides and pampers

My God is a GOD WHO PROVIDES... in more ways than one!
He sustains me...with His love that always delivers an unexplainable peace to my heart...

Lord God,
Thank You.
Thank You for making my worship to You real...in 3D! ;)
Whenever I worship and proclaim
You provide what we need
And pamper us with what we want...
It becomes a reality right before my very eyes...
I honor You for being so faithful, Oh Lord.
I praise You for being so loving.
A relationship with You is definitely full of pleasant surprises.

Bless my heart, Father...
that I may not falter in keeping a harmonious relationship with You...
not because I want to be blessed...
but moreso because it is the first and ultimate desire of my heart.
More than the blessings
More than the gifts
More than the suprises
Way above the hardships
Way above the trials
I pray that my basic desire will be to praise You and love You always.

Mama Mary, I ask for your intercession.
Please adorn my prayers with flowers from your throne that it may become a pleasing sacrifice for my God.

God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit.
Thank You for always making Your Holy presence felt.

Amen.

haircut = heartbreak

From a tumblr post :
I wish a heartbreak was as painless as getting a haircut. You don't feel a thing. but when it's over -- IT'S A NEW YOU.

My take:
(in my case, ...haircut hurts AFTER)
 ;) ahihiii!

Better Together

"Better Together"
Jack Johnson

There's no combination of words
I could put on the back of a postcard
No song that I could sing
But I can try for your heart

Our dreams, and they are made out of real things
Like a, shoebox of photographs
With sepiatone loving
Love is the answer,

At least for most of the questions in my heart
Like why are we here? And where do we go?
And how come it's so hard?
It's not always easy and

Sometimes life can be deceiving
I'll tell you one thing it's always better when we're together

[Chorus:]
Mmmmm... it's always better when we're together
Yeah, we'll look at them stars when we're together
Well, it's always better when we're together
Yeah, it's always better when we're together

And all of these moments
Just might find their way into my dreams tonight
But I know that they'll be gone
When the morning light sings

And brings new things
For tomorrow night you see
That they'll be gone too
Too many things I have to do

But if all of these dreams might find their way
Into my day to day scene
I'd be under the impression
I was somewhere in between

With only two
Just me and you
Not so many things we got to do
Or places we got to be
We'll Sit beneath the mango tree now

It's always better when we're together
Mmmm, we're somewhere in between together
Well, it's always better when we're together
Yeah, it's always better when we're together

MMmmmm MMMmmmm Mmmmmm

I believe in memories
They look so, so pretty when I sleep
Hey now, and when I wake up,
You look so pretty sleeping next to me

But there is not enough time,
And there is no, no song I could sing
And there is no, combination of words I could say
But I will still tell you one thing

We're better together.

silence

We live in a world that rewards activism and industriousness to the point that we forget about our need for silence. I was reading a book the other day and it says that, generally speaking, people today lack silence and thus are unable to reflect upon the meaning of their lives. Socrates reminded us 2,500 years ago that “an unreflected life is not worth living.” - Today's Sabbath

Thank You, Lord because You never let me wander into 'sin city' again last Friday.
Thank You for not letting go of my hand eventhough I tried my best to spend that moment of 'silence' with you.

Galing mo, Lord.  Was home alone last Friday...  But not really alone because I felt Your commanding presence.
That I will never be left alone...ever...for I am  with You and You are with me.

where dreams may come (true)

last Saturday, I drew a fish...that didn't seem like a fish...
Oh, well, I told them, that's a fish in my world...
(then I added) and in your world, kids...everything is possible!
After that I drew magical waves of water (pwamis, mukhang lang siyang curly, curly lines)...then they didn't question anymore...hahahahah!

The volunteers didn't know the songs 'too well' kaya I sang with gusto!

And the dance steps, too!

Kaya jokingly, our invitational phrase for the Kid's Camp...
It's where your dreams come true!  Be a dancer, singer, guitarist, art teacher... in the eyes of the kids!

Thank You, Lord for this one-of-a-kind service!

24/7

A Christian lifestyle 24/7 is not an option for Christians; it is a must! Let us be faithful to our calling and be the Christian witness we are meant to be in the world. Let us live and create a Christian sub-culture that will challenge the materialistic hedonism that is fast consuming humanity today. Fr. Steve Tynan, MGL

15July2010.Sabbath
St. Bonaventure is one of the greatest theologians of the Franciscan Order. His writings on the mind and heart of God are still important sources of thought hundreds of years after his death. It shows that the truth is immutable and endures from age to age. This is why we need to seek the truth and make it the foundation of our lives and reject the fads of our time which are usually shallow and meaningless.

The Saints of the Church discover truths about the Christian life that command their attention and energy. These truths set them on a path that serves as an example for all to follow. This is what sets apart lives that will be remembered for their everlasting significance and those that will be forgotten by the next generation. I think there is something in us that desires to leave a legacy for the generations to come, but are we willing to focus our lives so that this will be realized? Sportsmen have a singular purpose in life — to set a record — and so often they are forgotten once their world record is broken or their career is over. Yet, these people train several hours a day to earn a wreath that is going to wither and die and be passed to another person. This is a challenge to Christians today to get serious about their faith and focus on living their lives to the full rather than allowing themselves to be distracted by the fads around us.

If all Christians were as committed to their faith as some sportsmen are to their sport, I am sure the world would be a very different place.

Reflection Question:

Is my life dedicated to living the fullness of the Christian Gospel or am I given over, even partially, to the hedonistic materialism of our day?

Father, help me to realize that there is nothing more satisfying than giving my life in Your service. Help me to remain faithful to the Gospel 24/7.

Fame - Dancing on the Sidewalk

Everyday I'll wake up in the morning

Splash my face to keep myself from yawning
Get dressed and get my bones together
Open the window to check out the weather
Then like I've seen a ghost, man
I'll be moving my feet
Just like the postman
In the cold or the heat
No time to talk, no
And I go dancing on the sidewalk

Dancing on the sidewalk
Dancing on the sidewalk
Dancing on the sidewalk
Oh

Lunchtime is music to my ears
I'm down on Wall Street with all them financiers
South Street Seaport I am the action
The number one tourist attraction
Hip-hop to the West Side
Where i do myself proud
The West Side is the best side
For drawing a crowd
The cabbies squalk, yeah
When I am dancing on the sidewalk

Dancing on the sidewalk
Dancing on the sidewalk
Dancing on the sidewalk
Dancing on the sidewalk
Dancing on the sidewalk
Dancing on the sidewalk
Oh

Are we gonna do this?
Are we gonna do this?
5,6,7,8

Uptown I do my boogaloo
Stopping traffic on 7th Avenue
Nighttime the corner to be on
Time Square!Under the neon
And for my finale I'll be doing my thing
In Shubert Alley they're gonna crown me the King
OF ALL NEW YORK!
When I am dancin;

Dancin'
Dancin on the sidwalk

Dancin' on the sidewalk
Dancin' on the sidewalk
Dancin' on the sidewalk
Yeah
x3

Dancin' on the sidewalk!

Fame - Bring On Tomorrow

We have arrived at a moment in our lives
When the future passes into out hands
We can find out, are we really strong enough
To fulfill what the future demands

We can stand on the edge
And look out into space
And be awed
By the wonders we see

We can all make a pledge
That the whole human race
Will become what we want it to be

Bring on tomorrow
Let it shine
Like the sun coming up on a beautiful day
It's yours and mine
We can make a difference
It's not too late
Bring on tomorrow
We can't wait

Long, long ago in a world we never made
We were children who were making believe
Closing our eyes
We were travelers in air
To a land we would not want to leave

But the fairy tale land, fades away as we grow
And we all have to say our goodbyes
And we now understand, that this world that we know
Can be ours if we open our eyes

Bring on tomorrow
Let it shine
Like the sun coming up on a beautiful day
It's yours and mine

We can make a difference
It's not too late
Bring on tomorrow
We can't wait

Bring on tomorrow
We can't wait
Bring on tomorrow
It's not too late

Bring on tomorrow
We can't wait
Bring on tomorrow
We can't wait

Bring on tomorrow
Let it shine
Like the sun coming up on a beautiful day
It's yours and mine

We can make a difference
It's not too late
Bring on tomorrow
We can't wait

Bring on tomorrow
We can't wait

Watched Fame the Musical with Jeanette, Chinkee, Kevin, Pam, and Anizon...

As Chinkee said, maybe we expected too much...(kasi Fame, yun eh)
How did I put it...
'Twas like the kids who played in the musical went for a summer drama classes...
and that musical was their graduation act... haayyys...

The only saving grace...
Mabel (Bacusmo) who happens to be a Pinay

Furhter research today revealed she was from Star In A Million Contest and she won 2nd place.
Sabi pa ni Del, apo siya ni Sylvia Latorre.. tha's why she's so magaling...
Stage Presence. Voice. Acting. You would really feel she's on the scene kahit nasa gilid lang siya...

:)
thank You, Lord for the opportunity to 'chill' on our hump day.

Kakaiba yung ngiti ko...
(for someone who 'always' smiles widely sa pictures for that case)
Iba yung saya sa mukha namin nila Tinee, Jonas, at Mae Anne!

Thank you Lord for allowing us to feel sheer happiness, real happiness coming from being of service to You through the people around us.
Loveyou po.

feather

such a good feeling...
light as a feather
as if the burden has been lifted
no, not as if
it was really lifted
unburdened
now without inhibitions
the question was thrown
and freedom  is mine to own

CN

these are the times I miss Courage, the cowardly dog...
i miss cartoon network...

So, this is love...

What is this I'm feelin'
I just can't explain
When you're near
I'm just not the same
I'm tryin' to hide it
Try not to show it
It's crazy
How could it be

I've fallen for you
Finally, my heart gave in
And I'm fallen in love
I finally know how it feels

When you said hello
I looked in your eyes
Suddenly, I felt good inside
Is this really happenin'
Or am I just dreaming
I guess, it's true
I can't believe

I've fallen for you
Finally, my heart gave in
And I'm fallen in love
I finally know how it feels
So this is love

Doesn't matter where I am
Thoughts of you still linger in my mind
No matter what time of day
I've really, really
Fallen for you

I've fallen for you
Finally, my heart gave in
And I'm fallen in love
I finally know how it feels

I've fallen for you
Finally, my heart gave in
And I'm fallen in love
I finally know how it feels
So this is love

a year's over and it still hurts... fail.
:(

k.i.d.s.

Being in the presence of screaming, shouting, laughing, dancing, playing, painting, and witty kids never fails to bring out the child in you and make you a child at heart once again...

V : (Shouting) That's why I'm  asking you, kids...where are you going? Why do you have your bags with you? We're not leaving yet...where are you going?

K : (At the top of her voice, as in right after the volunteer finished her question) And so, where are WE going?

I laughed before it tried my best to pacify them  and told they still need to wait for 15 more minutes contained in the room while waiting for the bus to arrive...
;)
I promise to get the name of this kid, I checked her ID last yesterday but I can't recall it now...

Thank you for the blesing of  Kids' Summer Camp, Lord...
Tired, exhausted and alive!

prayers straight from the heart

received these daily devotionals right on time...
a sweet reminder from the Lord...
*haaayyyy

06July2010
Dear Lord, our Heavenly Father, thank You for the trials, struggles, and problems, every time I’m in these kinds of situations, I can feel more of Your presence, I can hear more of Your voice and I can experience more of Your power. Lord, giving up will never be an option for me, for I know in my every downfall, You have taught me lessons, You have revealed in me more of You, You have developed and molded my character. I may be on my knees but I will never stay down because in You I am already victorious. Father, give me more of Your strength, perseverance and wisdom as I fight the battle within me. Don’t let any works of the enemy overtake any of my decisions. Let Your will be done and let it be accomplished in Your perfect time. Lord God, clear my mind of any confusions, lend me peace of mind as I continue to absorb every lesson You want to impart in me. Father, I bring You back all the glory and praises in Your son’s mighty name, Jesus. Amen.

07July2010
Dear Heavenly Father, thank You for reminding me all the things I need to do. Lord, I thank You also for keeping me on Your side, I’m sorry and I ask for Your forgiveness for all the things I have done against Your will, my prayer life is getting weaker, strengthen me Father, and don’t let my worries consume me. Lord, for whatever is happening to me right now, You have a purpose, and I know there will be good end results. Open my mind and my heart to see great things in difficult situations. Continue to teach me lessons I need to learn as a servant of Yours, even if it takes strenuous testing, I would bear all of it and not give up. Father God, You have provided me with my life, a life dedicated only to You, equip this with Your power and the armor of the Holy Spirit. I am humbly asking Lord, to provide me together with my family, friends and love ones, with everything we need may it be financial, emotional, physical, or spiritual needs. You have and You can calm a storm, give me peace of mind and let me be still in times of troubles for I know You are my God. Thank You Lord, in Jesus’ mighty name, I pray. Amen.

Dynamics:
What (happened today that) you initially perceived as neagtive but later realized as positive.

Lord, thank you:
that we are experiencing financial difficulties
You are teaching us to manage our finances well

that we are experiencing problems with work, colleagues, and workload
You are teaching us to value that we still have our jobs

that we are not with our family and loved ones now
You are making us apprecitae every moment that we will be spending with them in the future
that we will make every moment count, every second special and every loved one valued

that we are experiencing difficulties in our service
You are reminding us that the path leading to You is not an easy road
comforting us that we are indeed on the right track

that we are not with our God's gifts now
You are embracing us and assuring us that You are busy preparing our perfect love story crafted especially for the two of us

Your wonder, Your majesty is unfathomable...Your love is insurmountable...praise be to Your name, Oh Lord.

Job moment

I have allowed you to test him to prove to you that amidst everything; all trials, struggles, pains, he will praise my name.

TRUST HIS HEART

All things work for our good
Though sometimes we don't see how they could
Struggles that break our hearts in two
Sometimes blind us to the truth
Our Father knows what best for us
His ways are not our own
So when your pathway grows dim
And you just don't see Him
Remember you're never alone

God is too wise to be mistaken
God is too good to be unkind
So when you don't understand
When you don't see His plan
When you can't trace His hand
Trust His heart
Trust His heart

He sees the master plan
And He holds our future in His hand
So don't live as those who have no hope
All our hope is found in Him
We see the present clearly
But He sees the first and the last
And like a tapestry
He's weaving you and me
To someday be just like Him

God is too wise to be mistaken
God is too good to be unkind
So when you don't understand
When you don't see His plan
When you can't trace His hand
Trust His heart
Trust His heart

He alone is faithful and true
He alone knows what is best for you

God is too wise to be mistaken
God is too good to be unkind
So when you don't understand
When you don't see His plan
When you can't trace His hand
Trust His heart
Trust His heart

When you don't understand
When you don't see His plan
When you can't trace His hand
Trust His heart
Trust His heart

06Jul Prayer

When my faith seems to waver...
When I feel I want to give up...
I call on His name to lift me up...
and my friends to pray for me...

Please pray for endurance…the strength to weather all ‘storms’ that come my way.
And peace to continue to reign in my heart amidst the chaos of the world around.

pretend to love

... that every time you pretend to love, you impoverish yourself more and more. Love has great potential to enrich your life. But if you are just playing a role, pretending to love, it's only going to poison you. Because you are teaching yourself that it's just a game, and slowly but surely you will lose the capacity to open in love.

a rather extraordinary 'free' week...

Arroyo files bill calling for Charter change

MANILA, Philippines – (UPDATE 2) Pampanga Representative Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo began her first day as a lawmaker by attempting to resurrect Charter change.

Arroyo and her son, Camarines Sur Representative Diosdado Arroyo, co-authored House Resolution 8 which calls for a constitutional convention to propose amendments to or the revision of the 1987 Constitution.

Staff members filed the measure, which if successful, could change the system of government to one ruled by a prime minister rather than a president.

Arroyo also filed a bill to protect all species of sharks and rays in the country, and co-authored seven other bills with her son.

When sought for a reaction, Edwin Lacierda, spokesman for President Benigno Aquino III, said they were neither alarmed nor surprised by the move and downplayed this, saying Arroyo did not have the support in the House of Representatives to succeed.

"The filing of the Charter change [resolution] is not a threat as far as we are concerned," Lacierda told reporters at a press briefing.

"If we are able to convince the members of the House that this is not a valid or a good time to amend the Constitution, then that will be dead in the water."

But Lacierda said they were not ruling out the possibility that Aquino could intervene and mobilize his allies in the House to block the passage of the measure.

“It's possible. I don't know yet,” Lacierda said, pointing out that the President might not be aware of it yet as he was meeting foreign dignitaries when the news of Arroyo’s filing came out.

In any case, MalacaƱang was leaving it up to Congress to act on Arroyo's bill, he said.

“Well if she filed the bill, let's see. Let the legislative process take it course. Let's see. Do we have any say on that? Let the legislative department handle that,” he said.

Asked what he thought were the chances of the bill to get the nod of Congress, Lacierda said, “It's too early to tell.”

Asked again whether the Palace was not threatened by Arroyo's move, the Palace spokesman said, “That was already her commitment even before. She wanted to amend the Constitution through various means – Cha-Cha, PIRMA whatever so this is not something surprising for us.”

Arroyo, who was required by constitutional term limits to stand down after nearly a decade in power, has long been suspected of wanting to continue leading the country.

She took the unprecedented step for a sitting president of contesting, and winning, a seat in Congress in the May 10 national elections.

Arroyo's critics have accused her of wanting to use her position in the House as a platform to change the Constitution and become prime minister.

During her presidency, Arroyo had frequently said the gridlock arising from the presidency and parliament not agreeing on policy directions was holding back economic progress.

She tried repeatedly to change the Constitution, but her initiatives were blocked by the Senate, many of whose members, including Aquino at the time, harbored their own ambitions to the presidency.

Political analyst Ramon Casiple said Arroyo's fresh bid to change the Constitution could also be part of her efforts to avoid possible prosecution for alleged crimes committed during her time in power.

Aquino has said he intended to set up a Truth Commission to investigate and possibly prosecute Arroyo for alleged vote rigging, corruption and rights abuses.

A change to another form of government would derail the work of the investigative body, according to Casiple, from the Manila-based Institute for Political and Electoral Reform.

"It's just a matter of time before the... commission starts its work," he said.

Arroyo and her aides could not be reached for comment Thursday.
