God's SMS

‎"To one's life, some rain must fall." The discipline of Christ challenges us not simply to "make it throught the rain," but to see the rainbow after the rain and emerge as emboldened disciples.

- 365 days with the Lord

In today’s Gospel (Luke 13, 22-30) Jesus teaches His disciples to learn to step aside, i.e., to let God’s agenda, not their agenda, to take precedence. We are not to limit God’s love and generosity with our biases and limitations. A good question for us today is: Am I making God according to my own image and likeness?

What is stepping aside in a concrete way? Someone said that it is silence when your words would hurt, patience when you are being hurt, deafness when scandal flows, thoughtfulness for another’s woes, sharing whatever little we have, and being kind rather than being right most of the time. Try stepping aside sometime. It does wonders!
